Braintree Festival Under 7's

Braintree B team unbeaten and win trophy in a very hard group B competition

It was an overcast day but the coaches and boys were very hopeful of securing the trophies for both the A & B competitions, in the past festivals they had come on top against some very hard teams and we thought that it would not be a problem.

It did not start well for the A team, they lost the first game and started to claw back in the second match but to certain bad referee decisions they lost the second, this really put a dampener on the boys spirit, but in the next two games they puled back and with good attacking and defensive skills they won both games which put us in the semi final, the boys went in and and tried their hardest but lost the game on two tries after a hard game against Maldon this put the A team in 3rd place in the A competition.

The B team started as they were meant to go on and the team they showed in all the games that their attacking and defensive skills were second to none, the visiting teams tried but could not conquer, the last game against Ongar was very close to the wire but the B team pressed on and won the game on the last trie, they had played very hard and they deserved to win and take the trophy.

I would like to thank all the boys for showing great team work and discipline both on and off the pitch, It is a pity that both teams could not take silver but there is always next season they can all learn and build on what they have achieved from this season and take it forward as the next Under 8's.
